Welcome to another year of ROSA!

We have a brand new curriculum this year that moves through eight challenges facing radical movements today. As a class we’ll examine moments of rupture that produced novel modes of theory and practice in the face of repression and unexpected openings. Themes will include enclosure, Luddism, the Black radical tradition, and anti-imperialism. During each class we will connect these themes to twenty-first century struggles such as Standing Rock and the George Floyd Uprising. We seek a better understanding of our own conjuncture and the path that leads to something new.

The class format will alternate between a lecture and seminar for each of the eight modules. Seminars will be facilitated but their quality relies on the participation of everyone. We’ll assign short readings associated with each seminar. Every class is scheduled for an hour and a half followed by an hour of casual conversation over coffee and snacks.
